The Kotka National Urban Park is one of the seven national urban parks in Finland. The park was founded in 2014 and consists of 2400 ha.

The Eastern Gulf of Finland and the archipelago of Kotka has a long history. The livelihood has been upkept by fishery, paper industry, harbour and port business. The shores of Kotka have seen history for decades, which is landmarked by the remains of fortresses.
A sea trip with Kotka Charter to the Eastern Gulf of Finland National park and to the islands is a unique experience. There are over 400 islands of the coast of Kotka.
The vessel operates as a charter boat at Kotka-Hamina-Pyhtää-Loviisa sea area. Port of departure can be agreed upon.
Already the Emperor of Russia, Tsar Alexander III was impressed with the sceneries of Kotka and Kymijoki-river at the end of the 19th century. He chose the banks of Langinkoski for the place of the Tsar family’s summer cottage and as an enthusiastic fisherman the spot for his Imperial Fishing Lodge.
Today the Imperial Fishing Lodge museum is open for visitors during summer season. The museum displays the original furniture’s and belongings of the Tsar family from the end of the 19th century, an orthodox chapel, the Emperor’s memorial stone and fishing rock as well as trenches and a firing post from the First World War.
The Langinkoski rapids are a great place for fly fishing and they are offer beautiful short hiking trails all year round and an atmospheric arboretum. Read more about the history of the fishing lodge and the Langinkoski Nature Reserve.
There are seasonal places and a dock offered for visitors at the marina of Santalahti.
There are 2-4 places to secure the boat sideways. If you want to stay in the marina contact the club “Santalahti Venekerho”. You can find contact information below.
In the marina can be found soft water tap, a chemical toilet discharge and a ramp to launch the boat. No electricity.

Welcome to the underwater world of Finnish fish at Maretarium! At the Maretarium you can discover the way of life hidden beneath the water surface. You can meet face to face with about 60 different species of fish native to Finland.
The aquarium tour takes about one hour and fifteen minutes. If you cannot go through the entire tour in one go, you can pop in at Café Meri Cafe Kristina to have some refreshments. After the tour, we recommend a visit to the Sea Shop.
Maritime Centre Vellamo is a unique meeting place, where the building with a wave-like roof houses the Maritime Museum of Finland, Museum of Kymenlaakso and Information Centre Vellamo.
In addition to the work and teaching facilities of the museums and information centre, the building has a 200-seat auditorium, Restaurant Laakonki and Museum Shop Plootu.
